I really like old west characters and designs, although mysteriously I haven't really read/watched/played many westerns.

I think this turned out pretty well. I finally figured out how to draw guns. The proportions still need work, and I need to stop drawing so zoomed-in. But overall I'm happy with how this looks.

I like all your choices, but toss in The Quick and the Dead with Sharon Stone and my fave Open Range with Kevin Costner. Those are excellent westerns as well. The latter being true to the life of a cowboy. Glad you didn't mention Unforgiven. That dog of a movie IS unforgiven in my book and Clint Eastwood should be ashamed of himself for that one ;)

Oh of course how could I forget The Quick And The Dead *Facepalm*. I'm more of a fan of the Spaghetti Westerns of the 60's and 70's where I watched the Dollars Trilogy, The Sabata trilogy and of course Django with Franco Nero. They had a bit of everything going. Blood, drama, a lot of gunfights, gold and the best....Mexicans! :D They're hilarious. Sharon Stone and Gene Hackman were brilliant in The Quick And The Dead

Yup I'm fixated with that one...my character in the novel I'm writing is a lot like Sharon's character. However, I started writing my novel before I saw the movie so I didn't copy. It's just cool it happened that way ;)

True Grit (the remake) and Django Unchained are probably the only westerns I've seen. I've been meaning to watch the Man With No Name trilogy ( A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly).. thanks for the recommendations!

Your welcome. Clint Eastwood is the man in his westerns. High Plains Drifter is a must see :)
